BICYCLE REPAIRMAN was set up by Mark Phillipson in October 1994. We started out in a small 20 square metre unit in Dukes Court next door. After 17 months we moved to a larger 50 square metre unit also in Dukes Court. In Spring 1998, Mark took on a full time employee, Tony Glover, due to the increasing work load. In October 1999 we moved to a unit nearly three times the size in Earls Court. In early 2000, Tony was made business partner and the Business became a Partnership. We are now the largest GIANT dealer in the area and sole LOOK and RIDLEY road bike suppliers for the North East. In early 2008 we moved to our present location at Princess Court. We are now one of the largest cycle shops in the North East with over 100 bikes on display at any one time, all of them ready for you to try. We also now have Rob Smith (top mechanic) and Chris Bush (shop floor) adding to our workforce. Between us all we can give you expert advice and practical help on all your cycling needs be they cycle buying, sizing and training advice. Obviously the repair and servicing side is still a major part of the business but we now sell hundreds of cycles a year too. We enjoy the challenge of a custom build cycle and have built cycles for serious cyclists in Newcastle and Sunderland, Hexham in the West, Morpeth in the North and County Durham. Most of our customers live and cycle around the beautiful Northumberland countryside but we are happy to supply anyone in the area. Please see "Our Philosophy" for more on buying bikes |
